4.3 Miles usage rules

If Members have enough miles on their account they can receive awards. Necessary miles amount for award receiving is published in STATUS media.

Programme STATUS award can be an award ticket, upgrade scheduled UTair’s flights as well as Programme Partners’ services.

Illegally accrued awards are invalid and can be cancelled by STATUS support service.

Awards availability can depend on the date, season and destination. The detailed information about awards availability and special conditions is published on the site www.status.utair.ru. In case of some awards executing the conditions can be changed or added with some special conditions. Such conditions are published with others according with these Awards.

Programme STATUS gives its Members an opportunity to use miles at Company-Partners. Programme STATUS doesn’t guarantee unrestricted services providing (such as air tickets, hotel accommodation, car rental) and proper performance of all contracts by the Company-Partner. General conditions (regulating the concrete company’s activity) are applied in case of Programme Partner’s service usage.

Award flights can be operated by UTair Aviation and air line-partners   scheduled flights as well as by separate charter flights.

Award ticket is valid within 12 months from the executing date. The UTair information service can give the information about award receiving terms and conditions, seat availability for award tickets, size of service and other charges, collected during award executing.

Award flights are regulated by the Carrier’s carriage passenger and luggage rules.  

Award ticket executing for UTair flights 

Award ticket can be executed on UTair site www.utair.ru, in the UTair agency or any agency that has Programme agreement. In case of ticket issue on the site www.utair.ru Programme Member receives an electronic award ticket. If electronic award ticket issuing is impossible, the Programme Member receives a paper award ticket in UTair agency or agency that has agreement under the Programme.  

Award tickets can be booked only if there are vacant seats in the appropriate booking class to the chosen direction flight.  

Necessary miles amount for award ticket is determined in the Award table (Appendix 7.4.). It depends on the service class. Award miles are redeemed from the Member’s account while booking.  

For award ticket for transfer/connection flight, round trip flight miles are redeemed for every segment.  

When booking the flight a Member must inform about their intention to redeem points and order an Award.

Booking is made in accordance with the “Terms and conditions of passenger, luggage and cargo carriage by UTair.  

Award ticket issuing is possible only if there is confirmed booking.  

Award ticket executing with open date is prohibited.  

Issued award ticket can not be passed to third people.  

Change of flight time or date (if there are Award seats in accordance with terms, regulating Award flight) is made free before Award ticket issuing. For time and date change after Award ticket issuing agency can take charges.  

Itinerary change of the award air ticket is prohibited.  

If an award ticket is lost UTair collects charge of 50$ for the double ticket executing. Collecting is made in the agency in rubles according to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation rate for the day of the double ticket executing. This charge is irretrievable even if the lost ticket is found. Miles on lost award tickets are not returned to Programme Member account.

Taxes and charges are paid by the passenger with the currency of the country, in which carriage document is executed, or with any other currency established by the Carrier if that does not contradict the currency regulating rules in that country.  

Airport, state and other taxes and charges, published in booking systems, are paid by the Member additionally. In case of award ticket executing at the UTair site taxes and charges are paid with a bank card.  

Award executing by Programme types:  

  1. STATUS: Award tickets under the Programme STATUS, executed to third people, should be booked and executed personally by the Programme Member. In that case necessary miles amount will be redeemed from the Member’s account. To issue an Award ticket to 2 -12 year old children under the Programme STATUS miles are redeemed in full (100% miles).
  2. STATUS-Family: Under the Programme STATUS-Family award tickets can be executed by the account head only for Member Family of the Programme.  When issuing an Award Ticket to 2 -12 year old child points are redeemed with 50% discount of the number of points required to receive an Award by an adult Family member.
  3. STATUS-Business: Under the Programme STATUS-Business award tickets can be executed only by the account head providing the Membership Card and passport on the basis of the STATUS-Business Award Letter. This letter should be signed by the company’s head and Programme account head. Miles, accrued on the company’s account, can be used for Awards to a Company’s employee participating in a Programme or to any other person indicated in the STATUS-Business Award Letter. To issue an Award ticket to 2 -12 year old children under the Programme STATUS-Business miles are redeemed in full (100% miles).

The aviation-partner’s award flights 

All Programme STATUS terms and conditions are valid to the aviation-partner’s award flights (award ticket validity, booking terms limits, extracts and additions to the booking data, etc.).   

Destination airports as well as flight service classes on different directions are indicated in the UTair’s and aviation partner’s schedules, which are valid at the tickets booking moment.  Information to necessary award miles amount and connection flights can not contain possible changes data added to the schedule. The award tickets executing possibility depends on the flight date, season and direction.  

Necessary award miles amount for Award execution is pointed without taxes and charges which are paid additionally.  

UTair has the right to change these points without previous notification.  

Upgrade awards can be executed if there is an executed ticket on UTair or aviation scheduled flights.  

Certain tariffs and booking classes may be excluded from the upgrade. This information is declared in STATUS media additionally.  

In case of upgrade paid ticket rate terms and conditions are valid. Upgrade is executed to the same flight and date indicated in the paid ticket.  

Carriage terms and conditions change (flight date, flight number) of the upgraded ticket for miles under the Programme STATUS is prohibited.  

Upgrade can be from the economy class to comfort class, from economy class to business class, from comfort class to business class.  

Upgrade is possible only if there are vacant seats in comfort and business classes.  

Upgrade of tickets with open date is not permitted.  

Upgrade of Award Ticket is not permitted.  

Award upgrade for code-share flights (flights operated together with other aviations) is regulated by commercial agreements. That can lead to some limits in tickets issuing.  

Award miles amount necessary for upgrade paying depends on the booked ticket class. Indicated miles amount concerns only to one segment.    

Upgrade is made for every flight segment separately.  

Upgrade is possible only for the itinerary indicated in the ticket’s coupon.  

Mileage redeeming for upgrade for all passenger categories (infant, child, adult) under the Programme STATUS/STATUS-Family/STATUS-Business is made in full.  

Member should order Partner Award service in advance according to service reservation procedure established by the Partner.

When booking a Partner Award service Programme Member should inform about his/her intention to use STATUS Programme miles for receiving an Award.

Partner’s Award service is executed by STATUS Support service. Receiving order of Programme Partners’ Awards is published in STATUS media.  

Other awards, their conditions and further ways to redeem miles will be announced separately in STATUS media.  

Programme STATUS executes vouchers for Partner’s Awards receiving (hotel accommodation, etc.).

Vouchers are sent in electronic form by e-mail or in paper form by post. Members should check documents correctness at once. Voucher validity is indicated on the voucher. Vouchers can be used only by the person, who executed them.

Service charge is collected for change of stolen or lost Vouchers if double issuing is legal according to the Award’s terms and conditions. Information can be found in STATUS Support service. No service charge is due if the documents get lost during shipment to the Member, but if the member reports the loss no later than 21 days after the date when the voucher was ordered from the Programme STATUS. Vouchers can’t be changed or returned.

Miles for unused Award ticket or Award upgrade are returned to the Member’s account automatically if return is made not later than 48 hours before the flight.  

If return is made less than 48 hours before the flight, miles for unused Award ticket or Award upgrade are returned to the Member’s account on the basis of the Programme Member’s Application on the return of   miles for unused Award within 30 days from the signing date of the application on Award return.   

In case of Award return some punitive measure can be applied or some agency charges can be collected.  

Miles for unused Partner Award service are not returned to Member’s account.

Sale, exchange, offer to auction or any other kind of commercial transaction with third parties involving award documents is strictly prohibited, unless specifically allowed by the p.4.3.6. It is also strictly prohibited to arrange the purchase or sale of miles or awards, transfer of miles according to p.4.1, unauthorised purchase of miles or to make unauthorised use of awards or award documents (All such cases are classified below as misuse). STATUS vouchers serve as award documents according to p. 4.3.6. In any case of misuse caused by a member’s fault, UTair or a third party authorised by UTair reserves the right to withhold or confiscate award documents, and to refuse to issue awards or mileage usage. This will not affect p.5. Nor does it impair any right to assert further claims against a member, including claims for compensation. In the event that awards are released in exchange for miles acquired by misuse, UTair has the right to demand compensation in place of the miles required to release the award, insofar as the mileage balance, excluding the miles acquired by misuse, are not sufficient to release the award. The member has the right to prove that he/she has caused no or only minor loss.
